How does the inmold foaming process (IMF) work?

Using the in-mold foaming (IMF) process, PMI granulate is filled into a mold at the required density and foamed directly in this mold. This means that almost all three-dimensional geometries can be mapped. No further mechanical processing is necessary.

The Rohacell® Triple F production process is designed to ensure maximum efficiency and quality. The inmold foaming process (IMF) allows complex, three-dimensional foam cores to be integrated directly into the mold. This process enables seamless and precise manufacturing that can be used in various composite processes, including high-pressure RTM, wet molding, autoclave and infusion technology.
